Hi, I’m Melissa! I’m a photographer based in Austin, TX. I love capturing moments that tell a story- whether that’s a lively event, cherished family memories, or a portrait that truly feels like you.

A little background about me:  I’m also a professor at UT Austin, where I’ve been teaching black and white film photography for 3 years. Before moving to Austin, I spent about 10 years as a photographer in Miami, FL, focusing primarily on working with local galleries, collections, and Art Basel-shooting events and  documenting artwork.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me exploring local nature trails with my corgi, Milo. I also have an art practice that’s very different from the work you see here, and if you’re curious, you can check it out at melnunez.com.
